I am embarrassed (but proud).
By far, one of the most humbling things a person can do is ask another for money. While I definitely feel that way, I am also proud to embarrass myself (once a year) for the cause of teaching and building Torah.
Our makom Torah, YTE in Houston, is an elementary school full of love, an understanding of children, and a commitment to Torah.
These videos speak for themselves and humbly ask that you join our efforts in any way you feel comfortable.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Rav Avrohom Shmulevitz was born in Yerushalayim on the 29th of Nissan in 1947, the second son of his father, Rav Chaim Leib Shmulevitz, rosh yeshiva of Mir, and his mother, Mrs. Chana Miriam, a daughter of Rav Leizer Yudel Finkel, rosh yeshiva of Mir. Rav Shmulevitz was also a grandson of Rav Yosef Yoizel Horowitz, the Alter of Novardok, as his paternal grandmother was the Alter’s daughter, and on his mother’s side he was a grandson of Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, the Alter of Slabodka.
After his marriage, he learned at the Mir Yeshiva and soon began giving shiurim. He was an extraordinary talmid chochom and a world-class lamdan, though his greatness in Torah was often hidden by his humility. Besides his brilliance in Torah, he was distinguished by his exceptional middos tovos. He behaved with immense simplicity and was beloved by all who met him.
